Nutritional medicine

Unfavourable nutritional habits are among the causes of or contributors to the most frequent diseases. These include food intolerances, gout and diseases of blood vessels caused by overweight (myocardial infarction, stroke, etc.). In addition to usual diagnostics of metabolic diseases, Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (BIA) may be used in order to evaluate nutritional status. To that effect, the qualitative composition of the body as regards cell mass, connective tissue and fat is determined. On that basis, individual nutritional medical counselling is conducted.

In the case of overweight persons, an effective diet programme allows the loss of one kilogramme of body fat per week without impairing nutritional status. Weight reduction is continuously supervised via BIA and accompanied by counselling.
